Hey guys I have a question, could be a stupid one but o well, Im looking at buying a cobb intake for my 2012 hatch and they are saying that you should recalibrate your ECU after installing it. Where and how could I have this done...new to the whole thing so help me out.

And another question when I bought my car last week, the dealer was telling me that alot of people switch out the synthetic for normal oil, because it doesn't burn as fast with the turbo. What should I do? And I always thought it was the worst thing to go from synthetic to normal.

Im sure people will tell you to use the Search function. Its also called an Acceses Port (AP Port) By Cobb. You can also get it tuned by a shop or use an opensource map. With an accessport you can preform some bolt on modifications and they will have a map for it.

Subaru specifically says to use synthetic only. I would steer clear of that dealership if thats what they have told you.

Like stated above you have to tune your car for an intake. There are many ways of going about this.

The manual says synthetic oil. I'd stick to synthetic oil. Never heard of this synthetic oil burns faster thing. Did they also offer to change your oil for you?

If in doubt you can always contact SOA about the advise given, with name of said dealer to clarify.

Yeah well when I was signing the papers last week, they were encouraging me to get my oil changes done there because they said if i did all the services there they would give me 150 dollars per tire for new ones, when the ones I have now wear down. Does everybody else service their cars with the dealer or go somewhere else?

    OK so then it exists.

Do the math. If the service they require you to have done there cannot be found elsewhere for $600 less you are saving money. If not, you are not saving money.

I drive my car into my garage and do it myself. Dealerships may be good or bad nevertheless you always leave there spending way more then anticipated. A monkey could change the oil in a car and so can you.

Well idk about that, because the first online change at 1750 miles is like 70 bucks and from there it jumps another 30 for the next after that it keeps going up every oil change sooo

Yeah whoever you talked to at that stealership is a total idiot and I'd stay the hell away from there!

On the intake you need to get the airbox with the Cobb intake so you're not running a hot air intake. Or you can save $100 and just get the AEM that is a true cold air intake with a dry filter that won't foul your MAF.

Hey guys I was just reading up on aem intakes, and I live in CT and they aren't street legal here. Any other suggestions besides cobb intakes that also come with a tuner. And not to pricey!
