    2.5l hybrid

    im looking to do a 2.5l hybrid swap in late december. just curious on what i would need electrically to complete the swap, and any places where i can buy the parts needed. im in washington in the seattle area and im going to need a pro tune can anybody recommend a garage for a tune and the swap?

    i don't need a 2.5 ecu the 2.0 ecu will work?

    As long as you're keeping the 2.0 heads, all of the 2.0 wiring and ECU will work

    ok i was planning on rebuilding the heads as well or at least new valves.what injectors should i use? any turbo suggestions?

    my budget is about 3400 idk about power i just want a car i can go fast if i want to

    A hybrid build is not really in the cards for you (especially if you're paying labor for anything other than tuning). You'll want a new EJ25X motor with minimum forged pistons, gasket set, water pump, oil pump, etc.

    $3400 will pretty much cover that, and a hybrid with the TD04 is not a good match; you want at least an 18G, and that will up your budget quite a bit to do properly...

    Up your budget or change your goals.

    That's the whole point of a hybrid swap. All you're changing is the shortblock, so all of the electronics and everything associated stays the same.



    And $3400 isn't going to get you a hybrid swap completed. With all the parts associated (oil pump, water pump, pulleys, tensoner, gaskets, of course forged pistons, etc., not to mention the block itself) then the labor costs.. you're looking to pay ~$1200 just to have the engine removed from the car and replaced when it's all done. If you want to do this and do it right you will need to at least double your budget. My hybrid build easily surpassed the $10k mark without even blinking an eye.
