    Stock Resonator?

    Ok I see I ask a lot of questions on this site. But I got my first Wrx and I couldn't be happier. I have a lot to learn. So now I'm wondering about removing the stock resonator on my '11 Wrx. I'm not sure if I should do thT or install a CAI or a short ram intake. Any ideas are opinions would be welcome 

    What are you looking to improve? Sound? Get a catback exhaust and call it a day

    Well I'm planning on getting the COBB Accessport as well, my understanding is a tuned intake will provide 9-12hp. According to ScoobyTuner

    Classically, the advice was to not waste your money on an intake for your WRX, but the data seem to suggest the new LGT-style intake on the 2008+ WRX is restrictive even at stock power levels. Still, a downpipe + tune will net you ~ 50 whp, so even then the intake doesn't seem so worthwhile...

    According to Cobb's dyno database, people are apparently finding better results with a compatible intake than a down pipe, apples to apples. I still don't buy it and think its marketing shenanigans personally.

    Regardless, people seem to give any Cobb recommended intake a pretty nice thumbs up. They'll give you some noise, and at least with the Cobb off the shelf tunes, give you a bit more 'umph'.

    I'd still look into getting a down pipe if you are looking for more power. The peak values don't change much, but the area under the curve (and I'd go as far to say that area is much more important than peak) still gets a big improvement.

    It's not marketing shenanigans. The VFXX turbos @ StageII power levels benefit from an intake, and the '08+ seem to even more than previous MYs.
