I'll have photos of the hatch exhaust today. We're building 13 exhaust systems today.
This is a discussion on What do you think of this exhaust? within the Engine Modifications forums, part of the Tech & Modifying & General Repairs category; I saw rumors of a mid/down pipe ordeal in that review posted. Don't tempt me =P. You will probably hear ...

You will probably hear from me in about a month or two. I just graduated in December and got my car Tuesday, so taking a month or two to get on my feet. You guys are definitely the top of my list =).

Nameless performance, I've looked into that one. It sounds great. But being only axel back I don't know how much hp you will gain. The magnaflow cat back has a good sound as well and it will gain you some ho's but he cheapest I've seen it is $569
BINGO! I've been wondering why there are so many cat back solutions but very very few axle back only solutions. The factory mid pipe is not that restrictive and contains a resonator (nice if you dont like highway drone). Especially for those of us who do not wish to change the factory down pipe for whatever reason.. a proper axle back exhaust that has a really nice sound is definitely the way to go.

Well as far as our tests have shown, when equipping a 2011 STi with 3" dp and midpipe, our AxleBack makes 11ft lb of torque over the factory mufflers. We had a customer in VA get those results recently but I have yet to get dyno files. Baseline was 3" to factory mufflers, second runs were with 3" back to our AxleBack.

Never a bad thingThe factory muffler on the 08-10 wrx hatch is HUGE .. looks like a halved 50 gal drum and I'm sure its chambered (never good for turbo apps) .. Not seeing the sti piece in person I'm sure its similarly restrictive.
Without the dp mod though I'm not so sure much would be gained from just the muffler.. aside of the sweet music of turbo boxer doing its work![]()

Hey Jason,
Do you plan on producing an AXL back for the '10 WRX Hatch? If so when?
-JB
I'd also be very interested in one for a 2011 hatch when I nab mine in the next couple months. I did hear from others that it's significantly louder than stock. I also heard you guys say it's only 5db louder than stock. Which one is it, I wonder? =)
I'm also curious how it compares to the SPT cat-back that you can order from the factory.
As soon as we get an '08-'10 hatch in here to build the prototype out. Haven't found one locally yet. We're in the Portland, Oregon area so if you do know of anyone in this area with a hatch, have them hit us up. I also just posted a CL ad searching for a test car.
