Looks for some Advice!!

Need some advice, I have a HKS Hi Flow catback....rest of my car is 100%:

Would my car benefit from a turbo timer?

Any negative effects?

Thanks!

i am new here and i could be totally wrong but from what i understand, you dont really need a turbo timer on subies for everyday driving. now if youve been out driving hard and then stop, you probably want to let it run a few minutes to cool down but otherwise youre fine. can someone tell me if this is right?

Just like you wont hit rev limiter on startup, you should not just switch it off after driving it hard... and letting your car stand on one spot and idle is not wise either!

If I do drive my car hard I take it easy 3km before reaching my destination. I try and coast as much as i can to let the brakes cool down and car settle to a normal operating speed.

For "water" cooled turbos, no you don't need a turbo timer. If your car is oil cooled only, then yes.

If you're on your stock turbo, then don't waste your money.

Drive normally for the last minute or so of your trip; if you're WOTing it all the way to your destination, any damage done is well-deserved.
