VF-43 bugeye?

Hey gals n guys, I just picked up a vf43 and a STi top mount for a really good price, both with low miles. I plan on using modded wrx injectors txs turbo back, upgraded fuel pump and an open source tune.

I have a 02 wrx with 119xxx miles. Is this a good idea? and no I don't plan on beating the tranny, just want to enjoy the hell out of it.

I'd do a compression test before installing your new blower, make sure your engine is healthy enough to handle the power

I'm not sure what the point of your poll is. Didn't you already buy the VF43?

The three turbos you put in your poll are very similar.

The VF43 is almost identical to the VF39, except, IIRC, it's less likely to have the wastegate crack.
The VF34 is technically a better turbo due to its bearing design.

All three produce about the same power.

U answered my question... The best choice u said wld be the vf34. I can always sell the vf43. I'm in no hurry to install the parts. Thanks for ur input,

On a budget, you can't go wrong with the VF39/43 because they're so readily available for cheap.

The VF34 is a better turbo on the 2.0L engine.

However, over all three, I'd recommend this:
Blouch Turbo Inc. - Our performance turbo upgrades and rebuilds

It's cheaper than a new VF34, comes PnP'd from Blouch, and is considered one of the best (if not the best) DD turbo for the 2.0L engine.

The EVO III 16G is better than all three VF's, but it's hard to beat the price of a good used VF.

Except a used EvoIII

While it won't touch the price of the 39/43, it'll be similar to the 34.

Of the 3 mentioned in the VF series I'd probably go with the VF34. The ball bearing design will spool 500 RPM sooner than the others. Peak flow is about the same, as is ultimate power production capability.

That Blouch unit looks sweet! Obviously a better turbo than any of the VFs mentioned, but if cost is a factor a used VF39 is hard to beat and they are everywhere.

Parts list so far:

Turbo xs stealth back -used $280 w/ 4"dp
STi TMIC -$150
VF-43 -with 40k miles $300
STi pinks- $200
Walboro fuel pump -$80
Aem wideband -$180

Labor for turbo install -$275+$50 for stealth back+ TMIC
$230 for injectors and $350 for open source tune to be done be DPS.
Fuel pump and wideband I'll install myself and then dyno time.

Do u think an oil pressure gauge is worth it and do I need to get after market bov? Boost should be around ~21psi max.

Aftermarket BOVs are junk. All they do is make noise. There is no benefit, until you get into a really far out there setup that requires one, but you'll also be running an EWG then too. Otherwise stay stock. Aftermarket BOVs have a bad rep, and turbo damage and other problems have been linked to them.

The labor prices look decent, but I have to ask why you feel comfortable installing as fuel pump but not swapping out the turbo? It's not that hard and there are plenty of people here who can help you if you get in a bind.

Fuel pump will only take a 1/2hr at most. I'd do the turbo swap but I don't have all the tools I need or stands so I can do the exhaust at the same time. How long will it take to install the turbo and how difficult is it
