You won't be able to run the CAI w/stage 2 unless you are protuned..... Put the stocker back in

Injen CAIs have skewed the AFR pretty badly in the past. Unless you have a wideband O2 sensor and monitor the AFRs, I would not install it until you're getting a tune.

injen intakes are known to have problems.

the map notes for cobb stage 2 says to use ONLY your stock intake or a cobb intake.

however there are some brands you can use that will not mess with your air/fuel ratio that you can technically use with your cobb map.

injen is NOT one of them.

I have an Injen But hey I even have a Manual Boost Control
The trick is, I just came off the laptop and the wide band.

My A/F was all kinds of jacked up before the tune.

Either way, keep in mind that the Cobb maps they supply are simply base maps so a tune is a good idea anyways.

Some intakes are fine to run on a generic tune. However the Injen is one of the worst possible choices to have gone with. If you're gonna keep it on, you're gonna need a custom tune for it.

I am kind of torn, do you put on the downpipe and exhaust + have that intake on and drive around town with the STOCK TUNE or ...

Just use your Accessport and put on the Cobb Stage 2 map until your protune.

I am leaning towards "just use your Accessport and put on the Cobb Stage 2 map until your protune. ?

I actually recommend the SPT Short Ram Intake or the Perrin

well im thinking that ill just leave the stock tune on and leave the intake DP and exaust and once i go to get it tuned ill get it tuned with the stage 2 map loaded but im open for suggestions i mean i CAN put the stock intake on but i dont really wanna do that id have to get it from home and everything but running it with the stock map witht the DP exaust and CAI would be fine correct? just not near as much power till the car gets tuned

mostly do this because ive heard u can run into alot of problems with running a CAI with the cobb stage 2 kit so id rather just run a stock tune till it gets tuned there is a place pretty close that id be going to within this next month

i would NOT install these mods without having your accessport

if youre going to install them- you need to stay OUT of boost until you get some form of EM. (do you really want to risk damaging your vehicle?)

it really just makes more sense til you have everything in your possession that way you can install then flash right away with the AP (assuming thats what youre still getting)

i do have the AP im just saying i dont wanna risk damage on my vehical i have the parts im just waiting to install what i can when i know its a good idea so you are saying run a stock tune if the DP and exaust are in with the CAI but dont boost alot and just go easy untill i get a tune on it

    im confused.

you cant run a stock tune with those parts. THAT will damage your vehicle.

you need to run a stage 2 map from the AP.

if you have your AP, why would you run a stock map?

    thats what i dont understand.

unless youre getting the terminology mixed up.

the maps on the AP are "off the shelf maps" you CAN safely use those without any further tuning

you do not need to buy the AP, flash to their maps and THEN get a pro-tune unless you really want to. i think thats a waste of money though. if youre getting a custom tune anyway- you might as well sell the AP and go straight to your local tuner.
