Interior is completely gutted to the metal. When i pulled off the trim strips, I found quite a bit more rust than expected, so I've been doing a lot of cutting, fiberglassing and filling on the doorjams before I "really" get started on the interior.

It'd be a shame to put anew interior in... only to cover it in sanding dust and primer--LOL

I gotta tell ya, this thread has been making me check local listings for an old Suby. One of my customers has a old one. Like this:

Another one has one like this, and only 30,000 original miles on it:

And this Brat is pretty much the coolest one I ever seen, even though I don't think the motor could turn them tires:
I work on vehicles that make 650hp and 2400ft/lbs.

I have to admit..... I HATE the lifted monster-truck brats... I want to go lower and wider.

I love those little 360s though..... there is a MINT 69 360 on ebay going for 12 - 14K..... ouch.

Doorjams WILL be done by the end of Xmas break.... should be able to start getting the interior dyed and put back in within a few days.

Made a bit of progress.... the driver side doorjam is almost 100% done.... just a bit more fine sanding. Passenger side should be done in a couple days. It's so damn cold, even in the garage..... primer and filler takes FOREVER to dry.

Keep in mind..... there were 3 holes, just on this side, that I could stick 4 fingers into...... Not too bad if I do say so:

This looks awesome. Good luck with the restoration and mods. I'm sure this is going to turn out great. I agree with taking your time and making sure it's done right and they way you want it done.
