LOL...... I'm actually thinking about it.

It's coming to TX with me in July. But honestly, I really want another 914.... I've been regretting selling my last one for years. I've been watching Brats sell on eBay for quite some time, and I'm "estimating" that mine is worth "around" $3500... give or take a few hundred. That would take care of a nice chunk of a $9k or $10k Porsche 914 purchase.

The value and demand on these things has gone up tremendously. I just saw a restored '79 sell for over $6,000 just a couple weeks ago. A running first gen (even completely rusted out) will sell for $1500 - $1800. I figure mine is in the middle somewhere.

However, I'm also planning on moving overseas in just over 3 years, which would make a new car purchase almost "silly".

We'll see, nothing is certain just yet. It's legal now (or will be by the end of the week)... I want to start actually working on lowering it, flaring it, and going with some black steelie 15x8 wheels/tires..... that's next.

This is the "look" I'm going for.... only on a Brat... which has never been done before

It is ironic that this is perhaps the single most significant accomplishment I've made on this car.

    Sounds silly..... it is kinda.

    Behold........ License plates - LOL

If not the most significant, it's at least the most important for a road car. Looking good

^^^ Yea... it did. I can't afford wheels/tires and flares, etc right now. So in the meantime, I think I'm going to work on getting rid of the pea-shooter tailpipe.... and then split the exhaust to come out in front of both rear wheels.

A couple of chrome tips, some pipe, and more practice with the welder

^^^ No... not "side pipes" like the late 60's Corvette stingrays...

Just the exhaust exiting in front of the rear wheel.... two small tips.. thats it - LOL

Not looking for 3rd degree burns on my legs every time I get out of the car - LOL

I get paid on Monday... should start working it next week. Also starting my Master's program this week too though, so time is kinda limited.

Damn dude, I just read your entire thread, amazing work, the BRAT looks fantastic! I'm pickin up an 84 BRAT on craigslist middle of next month for $750. I can't wait to start playing with it. After you fixed your carburator issue, what are you getting for fuel economy? I'm looking to repair the rust on this BRAT, but I doubt it'll look anything close to as good as yours. I will make a build thread aswell so you guys can follow any progress. But, like yours, it's going to be a low budget repair/build. Maybe even a lower budget lol.
