    The "budget build" continues.

I've been trying to find a suitable, and inexpensive set of seats that didn't look "cheap" or "ricey".... so I finally decided on these 2-tone black and grey seats.... should match the black/silver theme quite nicely.

$275..... shipped to my door..... right on target for trying to keep things cheap. And Low and behold, they don't have "BOMZ" or "Type-R" or Japanese symbols pasted all over them. These should work nicely. Believe it or not... I spent HOURS deciding on these.

Now..... let the fun begin trying to custom fab mounting brackets.

    Gen 2 Brat... wider framerails.

Great project.... Ugly car. I had to insist on the gen 1 brat, even though the framerails are thinner an incompatible with DOHC engines (withougt MAJOR high $$ mods)

    Sooooooooooo... I got my seats

Oh.... also got this rockin-ass universal windshield washer pump/reservoir...... straight from CHINA (Oh yea) for a whopping 12 bucks..... now I have SQUIRTERS!!!! (I'll just make sure my son doesn't chew on it, for fear of lead poisoning A few repaired wires, a new hole.... and I actually made it fit right back in the stock location.

So...... a couple hours with a dremel and a cutting tool to "stretch" out the original seat bracket holes, a little time with a drill.... quite a few measurements.... and wa-la.

Low cost.... good looks..... and I can actually drive the car without my knees in my chest. I can actually FIT in the Brat.

Nice to see the seats in, just like you said, not very ricey at all, and they match the body color nicely!

    Thanks!!

    1) Seatbelts (ordering tonight)
    2) Powdercoating the brush guard chrome (next week)
    3) Few odds and ends (floormats, bed plugs, maybe gauges, oil change, fluid change, etc.)
    4) Inspection and registration (1st of September)
    5) Peach Days car show, Sept 11th (the unveiling - LOL)

    THEN.........

Maybe I'll get back to the original plan of lowering it, and going with a much wider/taller wheel tire combo.

Or.... maybe I'll just drive the $hit out of it through the winter

Yea.... I couldn't justify spending nearly $1000 for seats

    ...... on a $1000 car - LOL

Believe it or not.... they are actually pretty comfortable and provide great support. And I definitely can't argue with the price.
