wrx cat

so im kinda new to the subaru since i just bought one 2 weeks ago. if i hollow out the cats will it make it run worse? will i have to retune the ecu?

You don't need a tune, but you really should get one.

Gut the OEM UP
Bosal shorty DP
Gut the OEM 3rd cat

When you get enough $$, get it tuned.

Rather then gutting the stock stuff I'd look into a UP and a used DP of your choice. There are plenty of deals to be had. Gutting the cats is dangerous to your health, time consuming, and your stock cats are worth money.

haha i doubt you'd see any mod friendly dealers that provide tuning services.

you could find a local tuner in your area, purchase an accessport, or do opensource turning with a tatrix cable

i wouldnt gut the cats if i was you because if you ever wanted to return the car back to stock you wouldnt be able to....just buy an aftermarket downpipe and then take it to a tuning shop to get it tuned
