    MY06 WRX Help needed

    Hi

    I recently purchased a MY06 WRX, the owner advised that no mods besides the cat back exorst had been done.

    However upon inspecting the vehicle I found this:

    I am not too sure what it is. It looks like a manual boos controller but it only has one input. It is on the line from the wastegate that goes to the slenoid. and the tube to the solenoid is blocked off.

    The car has no boost guage and am a little worried if this is a boots controller as to what its running.

    any one know what these lines do and what this does, or is it like that from stock.

    I have no idea what that is, but it looks like the stock boost soleoid is still installed, since it appears that the return line is still there (it's the one with the screw in it that should go back to the intake, I think).

    I think its a bleed valve.

    The stock solenoid is there and th ereturn line is still connected to the air intake. The line with the screw in it is comming from the solenoid and is the line that would normally connect to the waste gate.

    however it has been cut and this put in its place

    that actually looks like a mbc with the controller missing. There SHOULD be a scew-type adjuster on top to adjust the amount of boost, but instead there's just a threaded hole on yours. You should get a boost guage and see what you're running, but I doubt over-boost is your problem.
