    HP gains

I bought a used 04 STI with mods. Injen cold air and Blitz NUR cat back. Any ideas on power gains? I'm thinking 310 HP...don't have access to a dyno.

Maybe 310 flywheel. Catbacks yeild no real gains and untuned cai's sometimes hinder performance. I'd say 240-250 wheel hp depending on dyno. Stage 2 guys with downpipes and intakes that are tuned (have engine managment) make about 300 whp.

Your car comes with 300 or 297 SAE corrected flywheel horsepower. You lose about 12 percent of that with your drivetrain/wheels/tires etc on a dyno that takes you to about 240ish. add 5 horsepower with your catback then possibly subtract 2 for your CAI. buy the more significart of your exhaust (downpipe) and add some tuning (upping boost, advancing timing, adding fuel) and you may get your 310 wheel horsepower.

Beleive me, I've been on about 3 dynos. You dont make 300 stock.

    thanks

Would a piggy back ECU be a logical thing to do? Where's a good place to get it tuned? I live in northern NH and tuner shops don't exist.

I suggest a Cobb Accessport. Its will be one of the best mods you get. Also XX tuning in Hartford CT is def worth the trip. I drove up there from Jersey quite a few times.

Cobb AP and a good DP (StageII) would yield you ~50hp and ~85ft/lbs

    That's where you should start

The AP is extremely easy to use - plug into your OBDII port, download your stock map, upload a stage map, and you're ready to party

There's a video (15.2MB) of how to use it off the Cobb website.

No they do not, they will want nothing to do with you modding your car. some good advice to you would be to read around for a good couple days, search up some things and just get the hang of how things work with these cars. then find the right path to take your car down. im currently stage 2 with my WRX check my sig.
