Completly off topic.....I would like to see a Stage 2 dyno plot laid out against the soon to be released 06 one. I am guessing that SOA has this car performing simular to a stage 2 by the time you factor in new ratios and what not. I bet 0-60 times will be right around each other.

The Subura Online Serive Manual has the wrx and sti as 2.5. Every other "performance" car they make has the 2.5. The baja has a 2.5 xt...2.5. Legacy 2.5.....So why not just make all the US cars conform to one set of 2.5 emissions? It's logical (atleast logical enough to belive).

It's been all but confirmed this is what they are doing....they have to toss us some kind of bone....would anyone buy that car with the 05 drivetrain in it?

that compares stage 1 wrx and stock sti so it should pretty much give you your answer.

btw 06 will have 2.5 and its gonna have 230 hp instead of 227 but torque is also around 230. It will probably be easier to launch and maybe get 1.8's stock (not possible with stock wrx) I bet a lot of people will just do low 14's a lot easier. Maybe some awesome driver doing 13.9-14.0. I doubt it will be anything near a stage 2. Turbo is supposedly the same so it will probably have basically no lag and a lot of top end to be desired.

it is logical enough to believe, but am I mistaken that the '06 USDM 2.5L WRX could no longer be WRC? criteria = 2.0L displacement maximim, AWD...production car...I don't keep upto date with the WRC but I thought these were the rules..last time I checked...

hopefully they'll upgrade the tranny or at least the final drive like the LGT, BXT, FXT....

if I were going to do it again I'd have a Legacy GT....Luxo Sleeper..

The rally thing is so overrated......you just have to have a 2.0 motor....between Japan and the UK this is an easy requirment to fill. Alot of the players in rally dont even produce a turbo version of there motor in production cars....the 2.0 is not enough to prevent SOA from using it in there car.

Correct. the USDM will no longer be anything like the WRC car. The JDM/EDM version will be though.

keep in mind that the 06 WRX pretty much has the engine/drivetrain combo of the Forester XT, and that thing pulls 13.8 stock. of course, the Legacy, with 250hp, is slower?

    Here you go:

This was a stock mode real time map laid over a stage 1 base map for a "stock" dyno run.

Here is after I switched over to a stage 1 real time map.

On the stock mode map I was making 13 psi.... on stage 1 I made 14 psi. The peak power is only 12 wheel HP higher, but at 7,000 RPM the stage 1 map is a full 35 wheel HP higher than the stock dyno sheet.
