does the kenwood have time correction?
This is a discussion on Pioneer or Alpine within the Electronics/Car Audio forums, part of the Interior Mods category; does the kenwood have time correction?...
ah it would appear that it does... interesting. well I started with two possibilities and now i have three, fan-freakin-tastic. And I changed my mine on the alpine the new list is
Kenwood Excelon KDC-X979
Back when Circuit City had that 30 day return thing I bought 3 different decks all around $300. I started with the pioneer (wasn't really thrilled), then to a kenwood excelon (even less thrilled) and then onto a Alpine and the sound quality was so much clearer and louder with their V-Drive amp thing. Since then I have yet to buy anything but alpine when it comes to amps or decks.
My old, but missed Subaru.
True, Alpine makes some very impressive headunits, but the only HU on their line-up that can defeat the KDC-X979 is the 9835. At that point, it becomes a number game. How much do you want to spend???? If you want the Excelon, I can get you one for under $400. Alpine, wait until january/February. Pioneer I can order, but I'd hold off on both Alpine and Pioneer, as they will both release a new line at the CES show. Kenwood will not, as they already did this year, which is why THIS year, Kenwood units are spanking all alpine and Pioneer units, Dollar for Dollar.
Those fools, EVO vs. STi??? That's like comparing ....wait a minute...there's no comparison. The Suby's still working!!! The evo...well... I hope he got the extended warranty.
www.Ikesound.com offers some good pricing and good service.
In my opinion, Alpine will give you the cleanest sound of the three, but you really should go and listen to those units somewhere first.
"Never criticize a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes. That way, if he doesn't like what you have to say, it'll be OK because you'll be a mile away and you'll have his shoes."
Maybe this will help my system will include:
MB quart RCE 216 6.5 front components
MB quart RCE 210 4 rear components
2 12 Fosgate punch hx2's
RF 1000bd 1080rms amp for subs
RF 550x 680rms 4-channel amp for the MBQ's
So now I only need the HU I'll be amping everything right away, so does that mean I shouldn't really care as much about HU power? But pre-out voltage will still be important I think
Oh and is there a decent eclipse HU in this price range?
