Is it true, if you are not using an Amp to power your front speakers, you don't .....

need to get components as they will not be used to their potential? a nice pair of coaxials(is this the right term) would serve you fine?

Can someone recommend me a nice set of non components that will run off a 22 watt rms headunit?

    thanks!

UNfortunately its not that simple. A set of aftermarked components are usually powered off one set of stereo channels, and that is then split by the x-over that comes with the components. Its full potential is just a matter of installation and powering it to specifications, not weather youre using some specific amp or configuration or not.

Generally, yes, most component systems accept higher power than coax/triax speakers. Wether or not that matters to you depends on how loud you like it, what kind of music you like, etc.

    I'd have to say no.

Components are always better than coaxes. Unless you like the idea of your soundstage being around your knees. If you get something sensative like Infinity Reference you can get good sound off of deck power. Of course, amps are always better. How much do you like music? And how much is good music worth to you?
