    subwoofer troubleshooting

I was wondering if some of you gurus could help me out....
My subwoofer stopped working this weekend.

I checked the fuse, and that was intact...cool.

The power light is on the amp

My cap doesn't have a digital display or anything. I can't tell if that's a problem or not.

The subwoofer just muffles very faintly.

I hooked up a different sub and got the same thing.

Do you think it would be the cap? the amp?

I just want a good idea cause I had the cap installed someplace else that didn't do the rest of my stuff, and I want to know who to go back to and yell at to fix it.

Remove the cap and reconnect the power wire to the amp. See if that works, and if it does, reconnect the cap and make sure the connections are good. Also, make sure it's wired in parallel (+ to +).
