i purchased an STi on last friday but won't take delivery of it until late Dec. or early Jan. but I would like to shop around for audio equipt. I was wondering what size front and rear speakers would fit. I'm guessing 6 1/2 up front and 6x9 in the rear is this correct?

For those with the TV Monitor, do you have any trouble seeing the screen during the day light or because of glare from the sun or other lights? I have my windows tinted so most of the light is kept out. Let me know about the visibility and quality of picture. Thanks for the help.

Here's my setup. I have the Sony XAV-7W Media Center, which allows input from up to 3 different sources, with AM/FM tuning built into the Media Center itself. I have a 10 disc CD/MP3 changer in the trunk. Here's the headunit in receiver mode:

Here's where it gets fun. I have a 6"x6" Epia mainboard with 800MHz processor mounted in a plastic enclosure, with a 20G harddrive full of videos and MP3's. (The videos are cartoons for my daughters' enjoyment if they're with me for a bit...) This pic shows a program called Media Engine, which is an interface to deal with the music and videos:

Here's a shot from the driver's seat, showing the head unit, and the little flexible keyboard I'm currently using for control of the computer, which is located behind the driver's seat right now. The computer weighs only a couple of pounds, thanks to the use of a tiny 12V to 12V power supply, and the tiny mainboard.

I also use Infinity Reference components up front, driven by a 100W Alpine amp. The stock speakers are still in use in the rear doors, and I have an Infinity Basslink in the trunk. It all sounds pretty good, and makes my commute tolerable...

I've never had a problem seeing mine in full sunlight, before or after I got a tint.

Ray, whered you mount you pc? I'd like to get some pics from ya... I have an epia in acrylic case under my seat, couldn't really think of a better spot for it... Have you added GPS? If not you should!

Also I assume thats a touch screen? I'll get some pictures of my setup as soon as I find a digi cam

My PC is currently mounted in a plastic box, behind the passenger's seat in the floor. I'm still working on a box that I can hide under the passenger seat. I'd be embarassed to show you a pic of my PC as it stands right now! It's not too "finished" looking, though it is completely functional.

The Sony screen is not a touch unit. I use the keyboard for navigation through the Media Engine screens. I'd love to integrate a touchscreen into my dash OEM style, but I have a lot of other mods I'd like to do first.

As far as GPS goes, I'd like a setup where I can quickly and easily enter in a destination, and be given routing directions, restaurants along the way, etc in an easily read format. Sort of like a Garmin Streetpilot. What computer software is good for that?
