subwoofer choice?

im gonna be running the audiobahn 1300hct audiobahn1300hct to one of these 2 subwoofers ... the alpine type r priced for me at $90 or the Infinity Kappa Perfect 12d VQ priced at 142? which why would u recommend with my amp, from what i hear the infinity is ebtter then the type r i think and plus wouldnt mind matching the subwoofer with kappa component speakers any advice would be taking

p.s. one other thing which enclousure would be the best for that certain subwoofer .. thanx again!

I think the Infinity's have better sq than the type r's.
But there are better sounding subs than alpine and infinity's.
I have the Elemental Design 10k.14 and love them.

Or you can also get the adire shiva's, i heard they really sound great but needs a big box though.

A sealed enclosure will do. out of the 2 that you named ive only heard the type r which i was shocked by the performance on them, but thats not saying there isnt any better out there. alpine is usually not that great on speakers imo

I see that Infinity is only 400 W RMS and it says the peak handling is 1600W, but I don't know about that. For that price, I think you'd be better off going with a different brand. I have heard good things about elemental designs and image dynamics. Are you going to wire the sub-woofer to an impedance of 1-ohm? And I also assume you are going for sound quality?

I have a friend who has 1 12 inch Alpine type R. It sounds great, he really likes it.
