    Did a search first...

I ran a search and couldnt find the answer. If I get a new head unit and run it with the premium speakers and sub, will the sub still work? I'm not sure how the stock system is wired...

    Thanks

Why wouldn't it? You may be able to get some sort of adaptor to mate with the new HU too. Ask the place where you are going to buy it.

It'll probably work but why not ditch that crappy sub and get a better sub-woofer setup? Let us know if you notice a difference in sound quality with the new head unit.

Did you find out whether this worked? I want to install just a new head unit, using my existing subwoofer & upgraded speakers. I may, at some point in the future, replace the sub / speakers, but at this point, it is out of the question.
