I just bought a Sony head unit and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a sony-to-subaru wiring harness so I don't have to cut up the stock harness.

I just bought an out-of-production Sony HU...the ones that have the faceplate that flips completely around and is blank on the back side. I went to Best Buy yesterday and asked the sales guy about them. He told me that "that was old-school...people don't do that anymore"
I was actually surprised and said "so what's the in thing now? to just have the most obnoxious display you can find so that thieves have an easier time spotting it when they choose who's car to break into?"
anyway I just went on ebay and bought one used. I had one one my ITR...should have kept it, but my ex talked me out of it...she didn't want to have to STORE itI should have dumped here right there and then.
Now I just need a DIN pocket.

Best Buy $18.49, or you can go to dealership and get a forester din pocket.

I was just reading about sony HU's online and it says they all use a standard ISO plug...does that mean it will plug directly into the OEM harness with no extra adaptors necessary?

Thats a pretty cool headunit. I used to have the slightly older version of that one in my old Beretta. I was always told it isn't much for performance, but then again, I had near stock speakers....
I'm pretty sure that you are still going to need the wiring harness.
well I have the stock "premium" speakers and sub. I just needed something with aux in. I was pretty happy with the stock HU other than that.
this one will also read MP3's from CD-R's....which my original one didn't do.
