    Stock changer work with subs?

I have an 05 wrx with the stock 6disc cd changer, and im thinking about buying my friends subs and amp. My question is will i be able to hook them up without having to replace my changer with an aftermarket head unit? Thanks ahead of time for the help!

It should work out fine. When I got my sub I kept the stock HU. Most aftermarket HU's look like sh1t imo.

yea but theres no kind of subwoofer control on the stock changer, so i guess it will just turn on automatically and i'd have to control it by the amp right? i just dont want to fork out the money to my friend and then not be able to hook it up, cuz i cant afford a head unit right now on top of it all. just installed my accessport maybe the manual would say?

You can control a lot with the amp, you just have to make sure you have all the settings right. I just use the bass control on the stock hu, and that's been working out great. As long as there's power to the stereo there's power to my sub as well, so it comes on automatically. Best of luck with the install!

I installed a 10" SAS Bazooka and a MTX amp with a line out convertor when I had my WRX. It worked fine and actually sounded pretty good. But I did have the factory subwoofer and used the wires from it to splice in the line out convertor. Here some info:

Anyone install bazooka tube/box in sedan?

I just did my stereo i kept the stock 6 disc put in a 4 channel amp for the highs, then put in one amp for subs, im planning to put another amp in for subs ( I have two subs i want to use one mono block for each sub) I used SNI-35's (line out converters) everything worked great i got the amps tuned very well overall i was very pleased, but everytime I turn the radio up and get the subs hitting the cd player starts skipping. I cant listen to a cd loud cause it just starts skipping like crazy.. I never had a issue with this radio skipping intill i did the system.
