for the most part it works very good, but it is a little confusing(for people like me who dont read instructions), And its very fast scrolling and playing. It also makes the stock speakers sound alot better. Hope it answers your question
Do you have to have a "play list" for when it's being used in the head unit? Or does it allow you to control your iPod from the head unit? Also, is that a forester box under the head unit?Originally Posted by eld4au6

no its just like using the ipod, but its though the radio(playlists, artist, album, songs) yes it is a forester din pocket, for now double sided taped on![]()
Thanks for the help! I'll have to go read up on that head unit some! Gotta love the double sided tape!
yeah that stuff is pretty tough
Where did you get that little spacer right below the cd player? I have the same cd player that i want to put in but it obviously doesnt fit without that spacer or install kit or whatever it is.
do all aftermarket HU's fit flush like that???
I always though that when you get aftermarket HU's they stick out because of that stupid bezel. is that some special mounting setup or do ALL aftermarket HU's fit like that into a Subaru....if that's the case I'm going to go get one tomorrow.

I put in my Alpine head unit with no modification whatsoever. I ended up using the Forrester DIN Pocket and it workes great. Only problem is the button to open it is very close to the trim, you get used to it and it becomes second nature.

did you have to get a different bracket for the head unit or did you just re-use the stock one and just mouned the radio and DIN pocked in it?
