    Backup camera wire

Hey guys im looking at getting a AVH-4000NEX Pioneer and was wondering if it is possible to remove the backup camera from the tiny screen up top and plug it into this HU on a 2015 WRX? I have been searching for videos and images to see what is behind the second screen but cant find anything useful.

Any insight on being able to carry over the image feed to an after market HU would be great!

    Thanks

Great question. Anyone know the answer? I'm looking at getting a 4000NEX also.

I'd like to do a push button to enable the backup camera. Sorta fake it out that it's in reverse, and let the timeout close it after I release the button. Anyone done that?

I did it in my '14 forester which has the same setup as the '15 WRX's. It's a pain. Is your harness from ae64? If it is the GREEN wire is the +6V supply lead for the OEM camera. The VIOLET lead is ground. Connect your 6 Volt power source's output and ground to those leads.

Plug your car's factory 8-pin camera harness plug into ae64's adapter, then plug the RCA plug into your HU's rear camera input. If the Pioneer's camera RCA jack won't reach, you'll need to add a short extension.

This is not what he's looking for. He's looking to re-route the signal of the stock backup cam from his MFD to his aftermarket HU. This is to mount an aftermarkey backup camera and run that wire to an aftermarket HU.
