    Want a new HU

I am in the market for a new head unit. I am looking at the Pioneer. I am not a fan of DIY because I have zero finesse. I talked to the guy at the Car Audio and he said that I wont be able to use the standard Phone On/Off line buttons. I have a new 2014 WRX Sedan. Yet I see people saying that you can. So if someone can give me exact parts needed to install so I can show him and get an estimate that would be very helpful.

Contact Subaru radio and radio wiring harness information
They can get you the wiring harness needed as well as the Axxess controller. When programing the buttons they may need to do a manual program. They button I was not able to get working was the voice command but other then that mine works fine

No prob the install really isnt that difficult there are a few write ups on how to do it. You may want to at least look them over. If you are just replacing the HU then it should be easy not as many wires to run.

is there any way to keep the factory blue tooth mic intact instead of using the aftermarket mic? I couldn't find a topic on this.

Sort of a thread hijack, but...

The stock microphone (in the dome light cluster) isn't simply a mike. It includes some additional circuitry that makes it incompatible with head units that use standard microphones (that plug into 1/8" jacks).

It is conceivable that someone could build an adapter. I was unable to find the threads, but I seem to recall that some have tried and failed.

People more energetic than me have mounted aftermarket microphones in the stock location. Mine is stuck to the top of the steering column cover. I rarely use it.

Another route is to find the stock XV Crosstrek premium head unit CM631UD. Direct plug and play. I'm loving it.
