if the charge is still good that will only last for so long. if he health Is bad then your battery will die over and over because the health is what holds the charge together. so constantly draining the battery will deplete the health

Age of battery is unimportant if treated wrong. After 6 years it's just old and depending on original quality (price) its just done. A new battery can go "old" real quick if left in dis-charged state. Virtually overnight. The "plates" are not made of solid lead, that was 50 years ago. Now they're made with lead that's been made into something more like a sponge. Gives great capacity and starting current - but falls apart when dis-charged and exposed to battery acid. The charge dilutes the acid and changes the surface of the "lead plates" and that in turn protects the plates from being eaten up... So never, never, never ever leave a battery sitting dis-charged.... and since there is no "putting it back together" you might end up getting a new battery after all. If less than a year old you might be able to get some warranty to help with the new one. I once lucked out, went to store with old battery, had partial warranty, left with a new battery, didn't pay a dime and even got about $40 put in my hand for the old one. Told them this couldn't possibly be right, but they insisted...
You can't have everything - where would you put it?

Yes my roommates left my battery discharged for 3 days with the overhead lights on.
