This is a discussion on Photo of HU Install - Looking for better dash kit within the Electronics/Car Audio forums, part of the Interior Mods category; I just installed this new HU. It went pretty smoothly but the dash kit (around the radio) doesn't fit that ...

Perfect that's exactly what I'm looking for... thanks!
Hey, which HU is that? Looks like almost exactly what I am going to install this weekend (JVC KW-R900BT).
What dash kit did you use?
I bought the stuff at Crutchfield. More expensive there, but for me, worth the tech support.
JVC KWR900BT CD Receiver
Item #: 105KWR900B
Dash Kit (free with HU)
Item #: 003SBK926
The dash kit was free, but I'm not super happy with it. I mean it all went together easily enough but there's too much space to the left/right of the HU. I going to spend the $$$ and get the JDM dash kit.
Also I used the factory metal brackets to install the radio. I need to modify them to the bottom of the radio goes in about a 3/8 of an inch. It's a little off right now. I'm waiting for the JDM dash kit though before I start fine tuning it.

What do you think of the head unit? I am installing mine this weekend and wondered what you thought of the unit. It looks like a good one and nearly unbeatable for 200 bucks or so.
I really like it. The display colors are fully customizable and there is a color that matches the WRX red gauges. It sounds fantastic. I keep it on the normal - loud 1 setting. There are so many settings I haven't gone through them all.
Install was very simple, it took me about an hour total including wiring the harness. I'm stuck on the Axxess steering controls now I have to read more into how to wire that in.
The Scosche kit fit perfectly in my 2011.
HU installed. Sub and amp tomorrow
I thought I better link the kit:

I bought everything from SonicElectronix and was very happy. The HU was $50.00 cheaper than Crutchfield and came with the free dash kit and wiring harness AND free shipping.
I also picked up this sub and amp combo for just $155.00

Awesome, post some photos.
Some more photos of my under-seat Sound Ordinance Sub Install:
Power wire for the sub routed through the firewall:
Sub under rear seat (seat all the way up -it's hidden when the seat is pushed back as it normally is):
Sub remote control:
View from the front. In this photo the seat is removed. The loomed wire is for the airbag which I didn't disturb:
