This looks fantastic! Congratulations on getting everything to work right. I am really hoping to make something like this for my rex too.

One of the reasons that I didn't get cracking right away is because I am waiting for apple to release the ipad mini with the retna display. I feel like they are screwing with everyone by not releasing it in high res immediately. They clearly have the technology but just want to make people re-buy when they launch with the "upgrade" in a year.

Either way, thank you for paving the way for the rest of us and don't forget to post about how you get that OBD-II dongle working.

Hey guys, Wanted to give a little update. I just had to re-glue the lighting connector as it came loose, but everything has been working out great so far!

Also, I did a review/overview of Harry's Lap Timer and my experiences with it. It's a great app for when you're at the track!

Great work man! I would definitely be interested in paying you to make me one. Or just send you my dash for you to modify it properly! And I don't need the radio unit behind the ipad so it would be much easier for you. I just want the ipad fitment and then I would just get an amp for my speakers and play music through that.
    Would you be willing ??

Thanks for your interested, but I just don't have the time or resources to make more of these. But, if you're looking for someone to do it, or just want the tray, head over here to Soundman

I got ya, well no worries, I actually gave it some thought and I think I'm gonna go ahead and take a crack at it myself!

Yeah soundman is a little pricey IMO. I think im gonna have a go at it as well. I work for AT&T and got a sweet deal on a Ipad Mini with retina display. The only reason I bought it in the first place was for my car.

I have some questions for you guys, if I were to remove my current deck would there be a way to wire my ipad to my amp and create a switch for volume control? Just bypass the deck wiring all together?
