New owner of an 03 WRX, stock cd changer problems.. please help!

Hello, I just got a stock 2003 UK WRX that was imported here in Peru. It has the stock radio and it only functions as that, as a radio. When I press the button to load the CDS absolutely nothing happens just stays into radio. Also, at night when the lights are on the buttons in the whole radio stay turned off, the only thing that can be seen is the green screen.

Now... here in Lima, Peru you are not allowed to drive in the right side, so all these JDM and EURO RHD cars that arrive are immediately converted to LHD. Do you guys think they forgot to connect something maybe at the dash removal?

It is a possibility that a wire was pinched during the conversion process. I would find a radio wiring diagram and start testing wires to make sure you have power and ground in the right places and the fuses are good. Of course there's always the possibility that the radio is just bad too.
