09 Aux cable question

So its my wife's 09 base model impreza wagon. In center console the blank is there but obviously no input. The aux kit through subaru is only $75, anyone know if this is just a plug and play on all the stock head units? (minus the mounting of the input obviously), I would assume it is but correct me if I'm wrong.

Which OEM HU do you have (what is the model number printed on the front, near the display)?

If your HU has a button labeled "AUX" then the aux kit will probably be plug-and-play. Installation is not too difficult. You can download the instructions from Subaru's site here:

(select Publication Type "Accessory Installation Guide," optionally filter by your model/year, and use keyword "aux". Or use P/N H6210FG000).
