Sub Enclosures in WRX

Hey all! Recently bought a 2011 WRX and I want to upgrade the sound system because it's pretty pitiful. I've done research and everything, decided I want a new HU (Alpine probs), new front speakers, amplifier, sub and SWI-Jack so I can still use the steering wheel controls.

Hoping to save as much trunk space as I can while still getting good bass, so I was looking at this 12" shallow sub:

I'm thinking about making a custom sub enclosure so it looks more natural with the trunk, but I'm not sure where to start. So I was wondering if any of you chaps would be willing to post a pic of your sub enclosure and amp mounting point.

Right, should have mentioned that...I have a sedan.

Thanks for the link, gives me an idea what to go for. They are out of their minds for charging over $300 for that enclosure, it doesn't even look that good.

I dig mine.. but I got it used for $200 shipped..They're pretty well made, very sturdy pieces and mine fits perfect, I mean literally perfect and bolts into factory locations so there's no cutting or mods to the car . If need be can go right back to factory in a matter of minutes.

First one I saw I wasn't impressed with...saw a couple more than look much better, so not bad. But still, it's hard to bring myself to pay more than $150 more for a damn enclosure than the sub itself, that is just ludicrous to me. The price is $350 for a 12" Perfect Fit enclosure.

Any tips on where to look for a used one? Just on forums?

You mounted the amp inside the box? How is air getting in/out?

I mounted a few fans inside the box and Im running at 4 ohms, so it wont get as hot. I carpeted the boxes but where the amp is mounted the sides are open. So air can move in and out.

On the pic that you posted, the top right of your sub box theres a small white plastic box coming down from the top of the trunk, do you know what it is? I have the same thing on my 11 sedan and i want to remove it so i can get an extra few inches of height when i build my box
