2011 wrx radio and my ipod

ok so i just got my 2011 wrx yesterday so i am still learning all its fun little tricks and i havent even cracked the manual open yet. but i did have a quick question and since its slow at work i figured i would ask. i have my ipod hooked up via the usb, i can move through the tracks and all ok but it there a way to select a different artist or album or playlist or do i have to disconnect my ipod, select what i want and than reconnect the ipod?

On the right of the head unit, right under the knob, there's a button that says "list" that brings you to your ipod music menu, then use the knob on the right to scroll through artists/playlists/songs/pr0n....and push the knob in to make a selection.

the steering wheel controls will allow you to switch songs once you have something playing.

Just got an '11 WRX, clearly the Ipod interface sucks. But, when you have your ipod hooked up, is the radio ALWAYS on repeat? Can't seem to get it off. Also, when you hit 'next' do you get a blip of the current song before hearing the next song? Possibly because it is 'searching' vs changing?

If your iPod is jailbroke you can install a app called No Accessory Splash and it allows to control your iPod when connected to USB in your car

Yea I just tossed all my songs to play lists, made it way easier and there is a rpt/random button on the right side, hold it down and make sure its not on song repeat, I noticed this too.

i have the same problem. Also, this might deserve its own thread but does anybody notice the radio sounds especially bad when listening to am/fm? Mine is pretty much unlistenable. The stereo is not great, but it really does sound alright with cds, or iphone plugged in. The fm radio sounds muted and extremely undynamic. Is this normal, or could I possibly have a bad antennae?
