Ouch! I decided to go the cheap route and install this under the driver's seat once my 11 gets here: Amazon.com: Boss Audio BASS600 8-Inch Low-Profile Amplified Subwoofer (Single): Electronics

Not the most powerful little thing, but should add a little bump to my tunes.

EDIT: Wow I see it's listed at $286 now on Amazon. Mine was a Christmas gift (that I picked out ) and was only $100. Sorry for the misleading info haha.

    A 100W subwoofer isn't even worth considering...

Yea I wouldn't even bother with that at all. It would probably be cheaper for you to just go aftermarket not to mention yield you much better sound out of a sub than that crappy oem kicker one.

Thats the pre '11 Sub. The one he is talking about is for the 2011 models....

It goes in the trunk instead of under the seat.

That is terrible! As I said before, I can barely notice my 10" under the seat, let alone a 10" in the trunk, especially for that much money!

Yeah, but if it's plug-n-play with the stock HU and retains all HU controls it's an easy addition. Although $400 can get you pretty far aftermarket with almost certainly better results....

I was talking with the dealer the other day. THe one that comes in the audio pack is the under the seat sub which he actually told me sucks. The trunk mounted kicker sub is supposed to be a lot better.

Those are nice. It's actually out of the way which is great. That's probably what I'll end up with if I can get my head around what harnesses or crossovers I would need.

I'm about to try Sound Ordinance B-8PT install (Sound Ordnance™ B-8PT 120-watt compact powered subwoofer - Hands-on Research at Crutchfield.com) to fill some lows under the seat of my 11 WRX 5-door. I tried a dry run and it's tight under the passenger seat without anybody sitting in there, hope the seat bottom doesn't deflect too much. Bigger issue might be that it blocks 80% of the floor air vent, we'll see.

By the way, I replaced my OEM Premium HU with my old Kenwood KDX-993 and it made a HUGE improvement all around. OEM speakers are actually pretty decent, even bass isn't too bad, HU however appears to be a POS.
