    Headunit compatibility- 2005-2009

    Hi all, will a 2009/2010 premium wrx headunit plug right into my 2005 wrx? My LED display is failing so would like to change it out.

    No. 2008 and later Impreza HUs have a larger face (1" wider than standard DIN), so they won't fit without you making major mods to your dash opening. See this post (#11 in my 'Stock HU info' thread).

    2007 is the latest you can use (or up to 2008 from a Forester). All of those use the same 14-pin harness for power and speakers, so all will be plug-and-play. If you get a newer model that has an aux input, I can make a harness to plug into that and provide RCA jacks or a 3.5mm plug or jack. E-mail me for details.
