How hard is it to remove the HU in 08 and up Wrx ?

Or should I say what is the easiest way to remove it.
Right now (before I actually change the HU) , I'm going to try a sub. I bought a Male & female connector and am tapping the the rear speaker wires to my amp. I know everyone says its the HU that's the main problem but I have the media hub , and sirius (on my '10 Limited) and would hate to loose them. I'm going to unplug the radio connector and plug it into my adapter , then plug the female end into my stock radio.
