Ready to upgrade my Stereo....need recommendations.

I own a 2003 WRX Sedan, and looking to upgrade to a Double-DIN receiver.

* iPod Hookup
* Not looking for a DVD Player
* CD Player would be nice, but not necessary
* Budget $300
* Not looking for a pinball flashy unit

just go to like a cercut city or best buy or a place that does car sterios and have them put in an ipod jack to your stock unit, its like 50 bucks to do and is nice. way under budget then you could have them wire it for a sub and amp set up for down the road

Many decks have an Aux Input jack - many of which are now mini connections on the front (they used to be RCA in the back, so you'd have to run your wire out).

I got a JVC KD-G510 for this reason (mini jack on the front). Bought a $5 3' mini-mini cable from Radio Shack, and a $10 (shipped) iPod DC car charger from eBay. All-in-all, it cost me ~$200 for the H/U, harness, double-din plate, accessories.

The only downside was the face said "Aux In" rather than giving the artist/title. But, that wasn't something I needed anyway.

That would be my advice. Then begin saving for better speakers (a sub/amp would do less for the sound quality, and would weigh you down)
