    as you may already know the 08 WRX audio system is not quite up to par.....ive been wondering is it possible to replace the headunit without messing up the steering wheel audio system controls as well as IPOD interface.

    or should i just keep the factory headunit and get an amp and replace the factory speakers?

    I personally would keep the head unit regardless. Aftermarket radios never look right. It does not have RCA outs though, so I would buy a pre-amp to clean up the signal before a power amp.
