    OEM subwoofer

Im thinking about installing the OEM "subwoofer" in my 04.
I dont need i huge thumping bass, just want some more low end sound.

I've heard mixed opinions on the stock sub.
I just like the idea of not taking up trunk space and not having to run so many wires and splice in an in-line converter for an aftermarket sub.

    Is it worth it?
I also have an infinity basslink (200W powered 10" sub) from my old car that i could put in, just would take up some trunk space and more work.

So whats your thoughts on this OEM subwoofer?

It depends on what you're looking for in terms of sound quality and power. I would just get your old sub instead of the OEM.

Yea... the OEM sub is not really going to provide much "bass"... but it does provide a more well-rounded sound.

I bought one aftermarket because I didn't want the added weight of huge subs and amps.

I'm happy with it.... but again, don't expect anything drastic.

I have the OEM now and I'm getting rid of it and looking for aftermarket subs. Feel free to make an offer at my OEM that is in perfect condition.

    oem subwoofer with aftermarket amp

I have the OEM unit under the seat but it looks like it suffered water damage and no longer works. the circuit board inside is all dirty and mucky... can i run wires from my aftermarket amp (in my trunk) to power this small subwoofer under the seat?!

i know the sub isn't that nice but if i have it i might as well use it... plus, I'm not looking for crazy loud bass... just a nice sound...

For the price the after market sub goes for (about 120.00 etc. ebay) I bought the Boss BASS600 you can get it on Amazon for about 120 shipped, i connected to my stock radio though I do use after market speakers in the car the sound is incredible. I highly recommend for the price and the size i put it underneath my passenger seat and fit like a charm. Here's a link check for yourself.

I've been pleased with the factory one. It was good for the price and profile. It's not as good as the low profile sub I had on my '05 WRX Wagon, but it's less space and less hassle.
