I just bought a used genome exhaust and its looking pretty dirty. Can you clean the actual pipe, it looks kinda rusty?
Whats a good product to use to get it cleaned up? I was thinking maybe the mothers powerball?

that can is a higher grade stainless you should be able to buff it out. The pipe you will probably have to paint, or maybe steel wool, or leave alone.
thanks for the replies. So yall are saying that I cant really do anything to polish the piping?

Never Dull FTW! It works great and it cost about $5.

I've used Mother's and it works great, but my favorite by far is the polish I picked up at the Hot Rod show. I don't remember the name of it, but it comes in a white and green bottle and I use it to polish my exhaust and the lips on my Volks![]()

That should work ok. I just bought a used Invidia that had a ton of primer overspray on it.
I took some sand paper too it and am now applying coats of Blue Magic to try and bring the shine back. Been workin on it for about and hour.
I wish I'd taken a before pic...it was really bad. Looked like it had been spray painted gray.
I would suggest the powerball and some mothers billet alum. polish for the can and tip. You can try some light steel wool on the pipe, but unless you have a lot of spare time, its probably not worth the effort. I would also suggest putting some poorboys wheel sealant on the can/tip after you're done polishing to help cleaning it off in the future much easier. I do it to mine and the carbon buildup wipes off 1000x easier now.
i just realized which way the threads are goin here, lol. Yea, that mag & alum polish should work fine.
thanks![]()
I got it installed and all cleaned up! BTW: the genome is a wonderful exhaust, I recommend it to anyone
