    read up on detailing forums...youd be surprised at how many posts go something like "I can see buffer marks in my paint!" and similiar problems...yeah, the pc is quite easy to use, but some people still mess up.

    to the original poster, if you want to use a buffer, i recommend at least reading this first

    most likely used a rotary if it left buffing marks

    It takes quite a bit of hard work to ruin paint with a portercable. It's not something that can be done by accident. I'm sure with the right pad, and abrasive compound, damage can still be done though. For me, +1 on the Portercable, it has done miracles on some paint jobs that I've tackled.
