washing you car once a week is fine, a good wax every 3 or so is good, and a buff job is great about every 4-6 months depending on swirls. ...i used to detail cars![]()

that's too much clay... once a year should do it.
2006 WRX - World Rally Blue
When I drove my car daily my schedule was
(waxes are listed in order from 1st to last)
every week- wash
every month- carnuba wax (no abrasives)
every other month- carnuba and meg. NXT wax
every 6 months- carnuba wax, nxt wax, meg scratchX
every 12 months - carnuba wax, NXT wax,meg scratch X, griots fine hand polish, claybar
I spend alot on detailing, its where my mod money goes. I'd say washing more than once a week is too much. Washing won't necessarily hurt the paint but since more washing= more waxing then your going to wear out the paint. Now, that said if you use a carnuba wax with no abrasives you could probably wax every few weeks, though it will be costly. Carnuba wears out fast so it has to be applied often usually once a month at the least for a daily driver.
Now that I don't drive every day and the car sits in the garage my schedule has been scaled back alot, but thats how it used to be.
EDIT: I just reread your post, you claybar it 3-4 times a week!?!?!? That is way way way way too much. The clay is most likely not even removing anything if you do it 3-4 times a week. Clay is for bonded surface contaminents, they most likely aren't even bonding if you do it 3-4 times a week.

would say middle of spring for clay bar , give it enough time for the salt and other chemicals to get off the road
