How often does everyone wax/polish? I find I do it pretty often, about once every 2 months, especially since I bought the Turtle Wax Ice because its really easy. I really didnt notice until a friend told me I wax too much. He also said he heard waxing too much is bad for your car...Is this true?

However, using abrasive polishes too often can potentially be harmful to your car's finish. Everytime you polish, a small layer of clearcoat is removed. If done too often, it can harm the paint.Originally Posted by ScreamnRex

speaking of which...I need to wax the new car this week....going to fix the stripes first, and then wax.

don't know yet. I'll see how much it will cost to have them fixed/reapplied.Originally Posted by mustangtx63
I'll either:
1) take the pin-stripe off the hood and trunk and leave it
2) re-do the whole job, and have the stripes come all the way down the bumpers
3) leave it for now, and re-do it in a few months....even if I get some paint fade, I can always just put on a slightly wider stripe and it won't matter. According to the vinyl graphics shop, I have nothing to worry about in terms of the stuff coming off....it'll last 20 years if you take care of it.

I do a full detail (wash, claybar, Klasse AIO, Klasse SG, S100) four times a year (each season).
It's probably overkill but I figure it's worth it since the car is in the open 24/7.
