I only wax about once a year. I just don't have the time or patience for waxing so much like some people do.

Time is a huge factor imo. All the accumulated boredom that I get back in my no work no school summer days often led to me waxing/detailing/diy mods/buying mods so that I could do something with my car.

Now it's like o.O I needz mah sleep.

I spent 6 hours the other day doing a 3 stage waxing. Meguiars step 1 and 2, and Mother's FX wax. Turned out very well, although having never used a clay bar, I'm not sure how it compares.

I typically used Meguiars Tech wax, but prefer the Mother's FX now (a synthetic wax as well). Much easier to wipe off; always felt like I was chasing a greasy spot with the Tech wax.

I do a normal wash/wax twice a year on both my vehicles, spring and fall. Will do the 3 stage each spring from now on.
