How often do you wax?

I usually don't wax at all, unless I can get my hands on some P21s. but about twice a year i'll give a full detail doing a polish depending on the paint correction power i need I have Menzerna SIP and 106FF in my arsenal looking to get my hands on some Zaino z-2, z-5, z-6, z-8. then I use the class twins, AIO once and SG as many times as I have the patience to do.

NEVER! I'd rather be driving my car, playing with my kids, or many other things (i.e. anything my wife thinks is more important).

The only car I've ever waxed was my black 911. That thing deserved it.

I use mothers carnauba every couple of months, but after every wash weekly I dry the car off with eagle one wax as you dry. It seems to help keep the shine longer.

I don't wax at all in the winter. Do a wax before Winter and a 3 stage job in the spring. Some times I do spontaneous waxes in throughout the summer when I'm bored.

ok so seriously my car gets clay bared 2 times per year. Here is my winter prep (yes it usually goes into a garage after this)

Blue dawn wash
clay bar
meguiars pink soap wash
Paint sealant
Meguiars NXT 2 coats
Meguiars gold class 2 coats
Meguiars paint sealant (to be used as final step according to them)

Summer prep is the same followed by usually a coat of gold class 1-2 times a month... during the summer

um, once a year. Usually late may or early june so it looks nice all summer. No point in detailing much in the winter months because you'll go nuts with all the salt and sand.

How often does everyone wax/polish? I find I do it pretty often, about once every 2 months, especially since I bought the Turtle Wax Ice because its really easy. I really didnt notice until a friend told me I wax too much. He also said he heard waxing too much is bad for your car...Is this true?

I do a roof to rocker waxing in the fall and spring and extra layers on the forward facing bits about once a month in the summer. I'm a big fan of TW Ice products. You can put the stuff on pretty much any non-rubber/glass exterior part. I get good beading throughout the winter from the fall coat.

The Ice interior cleaner is great, too.

have you tried the ice wheel cleaner and tire shine. By far the best on the market

I do the full Zaino Process (lots of steps, but the results are very tough to beat) once then maybe every 6 - 10 months I do a claybar then Z5 and Z2 application (about 30 minutes to an hour to do).

I gave up on waxing a long time a go when I realized I had to do it far more frequently than I really cared to. Plus the results are better with Zaino (in my opinion). So except for the full process of zaino-ing (almost a 2 day process), after that it's much better than waxing.

Only wax I've seen come close is any of the Nano-wax ones...but even them after 2 months they start to degrade.
