so spraying water on the engine won't be harmful???
(just use caution around alternator, fuses, battery and intake?)

I never had issues with any of my subies with water on any parts of the engine bay.

just make sure the entire bay is cool or cold to touch when applying soap.
    Power is nothing without control

    another simple green fan here....

i avoid superclean as it can damage finishes on many items

(think about your fancy battery tie downs and oil caps)

simple green is safe for the environment (animals, drainage, etc)

    superclean is not....

usually I just spray it on
scrub lightly where needed with a detail brush

    hose off

    towel dry...

    takes about 10 mins.

    and works well.

I never have - never a problem. I would suggest a plastic bag over an exposed conical air filter.

P21S autowash to clean all the dirt off then rinse the engine down. Dry the engine and spray CD2 engine detailer. You'll love it!!!

Simple green works great, then i spray the compartment down with wd 40. I prefer amsoil metal protector over wd40 but its a little harder to get your hands on.

Seems to me WD40 would quickly attract dust and dirt.
