Tar Remover is nothing more than mineral spirits. It should be OK to use, but make sure you wipe it clean afterwards, and then follow it up with a coat of wax. I have done this before with no problems. Finish looks factory afterwards.

Well I just got back from washing my car and I noticed some small spatters of tar along the font side skirts and fenders. Its really bugging me and I don't want to touch it until I know what to use. What kind of tar remover do you guys use? I have some Goo Gone around the house. Would that do the trick or is there something else I should use (paint safe wise). I did some searching and saw that the tar remover scuffs the clear coat, and I'm rather hesitant about going that route.![]()

2008 Evo X GSR. Custom tuned, Works panel filter, Intercooler pipe upgrade, TBE.
I use TurtleWax bug and tar remover. Works great, takes that tar and bird poop right off. A little elbow greese is needed on those tough spots.
