I think it would be fine. I use the brushless ones tho. I think it would be like driving in the rain as far as the scoop goes.

Hey guys, have had my 03 wrx for about 4 weeks now and its about time I wash it. Was just wondering how some of the gas station drivethrough carwash sprayers will work with the hoodscoop. They arn't my first choice for cleaning my car but some days I just don't have the time. The wash I usually use has an arm that circles the car spraying soap/water and just water under high pressure and would end up spraying the stuff straight into the scoop at some point. Should I be worried about the whole cold water on a warm engine thing or am I just overthinking it?

You have nothing to worry about. The water just passes through the intercooler and onto the ground. In the winter when it's too cold to wash by hand I go to the car wash and have never had any problems.

cool, thanks guys.![]()
Assuming the engine is not hot, I give the IC a hose down through the scoop during my car wash regimen.
