Looks really good, nice work as always.
I need to do a full detail on the Z soon. I've been so busy these last 2 semesters I haven't had the time for a really thorough (read: OCD) job.![]()
This is a discussion on I'm back, with pics! within the Detailing Forum forums, part of the Tech & Modifying & General Repairs category; I ended my spring break last night with a much needed detail. It started with a regular wash, then I ...
I ended my spring break last night with a much needed detail. It started with a regular wash, then I decided I might as well go all out.
Here is what I did while I was waiting for a coat of Z5 to haze. Took the wheels off (1 side of the car at a time) and detailed the wheel wheel, including the fender liner, strut, spring, brake caliper, etc. I used simple green to clean it really well the put some dressing on it. Came out looking real nice.
1 coat of z5 hazing on the body. Did the other side while coat 2 was hazing.
All done. Nice- clean and black, the way it should be. Prodrive springs looking good too!
Also took the opportunity to clean the wheels very thoroughly, front and behind the spokes. They were already pretty much spotless from the wash and general upkeep, but what the heck why not?
Again, my favorite, Simple Green, then a wax, and finally for the polished lip:
A bit of z16 on the tires and it's all done:
Got the rest of the car all finished:
whoa. you actually get a little dizzy if you look into it for too long.
sorry about the crappy lighting.
Also did a full interior job, polished the crap out of the exhaust (literally a mirror), and all the other normal stuff which I don't have pics of right now- under hood, all door jambs, glass, trim, etc. It was fun, it's been a while. I will do a proper shoot of the whole car outside in the sunlight when I get home again.

What kind of polish did you use on the car? I use turtle wax platinum series; turns out really well.
