I think you already addressed this, but what will you be driving during the winter?

    ahhhh, i see.

I know the 05' GTO's are good for high 12's to very low 13's stock. what are they running with full length headers, catback, intake, etc.. (basic bolt on's). I wonder if any have broken into 11's with just exhaust bolt on's

Not have heard any 05 GTOs breaking 12 second barrier, so far, they are mid to low 13 second car. GTOs are too heavy and until TM is removed with LS1 Edit or other programmer, I don't see it breaking 12 second barrier in a bone stock trim.

I haven't seen it with my own eyes but my mechanic's son has a new 6 speed 05 GTO. My mechanic (30 years experience modding and racing Vettes) told me his son has been pulling high 12s in bone stock trim. His son has a lot of experience racing LS1's Z28s, etc. This guy has never lied to me about anything.

There are also a couple guys over in LS1GTO.COM that are running high 12s with Nittos as their only mod. I believe 12.8 @ 107, 12.9 @ 108 mph at 3000 ft elevation

Last weekend I guy I know ran 8.4 @ 85 mph (1/8 mile) in his stock 05. That would be very close to a 12.9.

So given the right conditions/driver skill the car definately has high 12 sec potential.

But you are correct for the average driver. Most decent drivers will pull low to mid 13s in 05 GTO's.

Yeah, I could have put on ETs on my SS and could have gotten 12s as well and she certainly had the potentials to do so, but as a bone stock trim (including stock tires) I couldn't do it, the best I ran was 13.2@108 mph. So I wouldn't call my SS 12 second car in a bone stock trim.

Same for my Z06. When it was a stock, best I ran was 12.3@ 115 and I've seen time slips of bone stock Z06s on the Z06vette forum where handful of people have broken 11 second barrier in a bone stock trim (including stock tires). They could say they have the 11 second Z06, I can't because I haven't done it.

I am a member of LS1GTO forum and have not seen any one produce 12 second time slip for a bone stock GTO...yet. Does it have capability to do so, I believe so, but just haven't seen any one do it yet. Even many of the C6 drivers are having difficult time breaking 12 second barrier.

Yeah, I know what your saying. I used to own an LS1 z28 (which only ran mid 13s at best stock). There were a few guys that pulled high 12s (even a mag or two) ,but this was far from the norm. LS1 z28's were mid 13 sec cars on average

What I can't believe are the guys that have pulled 13.1s in stock 04 GTO's. I really have a hard time seeing how they pulled it off. An 04 GTO is really a high 13 sec car.

s/c is around 320-350, but the TT will usually produce nearly 400 on average.
