There's a guy at Cecil County that I see all the time with a stock Z06. He's consistently in the low-12's at 117-ish on DR's.

I lost to a Z06 at a stoplight in my Evo. Weird thing is, I got off one of my best street launches ever -it probably would have been a 1.7-1.8 60' at the track. But the b@stard actually kept up with me through the launch, 1st and 2nd gear. He tires were screetching through most of 1st and halfway through 2nd, yet we were side-by-side. After I shifted to 3rd, he pulled away hard, and I finally gave up. He must have had drag radials on the car, or was a fantastic driver.

    Sorry, didn't mean to hijack....

Not a hijack at all, any input is appreciated.

I am planning on getting new rims as well as drag radials for the spring. Probably moving up a 1/2 inch in tire width as well, to 10.5's in the rear...

Yeah, don't believe the hype about AWD launches being invincible on the street. That experience with the Z06 was pretty humbling. Funny thing is that I recently did the same thing to an Sti that the Z06 did to me (in my Mustang). So I was the victim of a little Karma.

IT IS..... However teh Driver is not. I can get my 1.7's on the street just the same as the track if not faster If needed. Although Grand Nations seem to hook up well with a loose suspension.

I agree with you about Z06 putting slightly better time than the C6. The Z06vette forum has several guys who has high 11 second time slips of their bone stock (down to paper filter and stock tires), so high 11 second IS repeatable (some one said it wasn't in this thread) with a bone stock Z06, some we have not seen with C6...yet.

Now that would be a nice race. (04)ZO6 vs (05)C6.

As of today, I would rather have my Z06. The new design of C6 hasn't grown in me yet, but I could change my mind as I did with looks of C5's.

Southpaw, the first set of pics are comparison of C5 and C6, the question was concerning ownership of C5 Z06 or C6.

I think the C6 design will grow on most, like the design of the C5 did when it first came out... I love them both. I just really love the new interior of the C6 waaay more than the rubbermade look of the C5... this was what pushed me over the edge when deciding which one to buy.

I realize the first pic is a C5, not a C5 Z06. The pictures are for a comparison of looks only.
